And there I was, sipping my scotch and drinking champagne with my wife, watching the pending sunset in Maui.
A beautiful evening ahead. And off to my left I hear someone singing, clear voice, happy and upbeat music.
It was Ted Newman, singer / songwriter / guitarist / poet / producer, who not only became my good friend, but a mentor who, through his own fine example, encouraged and brought me back into the entertainment business after a long hiatus.
Ted comes to Colorado every May and stays until September, entertaining thousands of old and new fans at The Pantry Restaurant, just outside of Woodland Park (and yes the dining and entertainment experience does keep you coming back for more and more; hence a long standing favorite of the community he brings revenue and pleasure to.
And what a talent he is, picking, grinning, conversing with his audience in ways I will never be able to duplicate.
And that is why Ted Newman remains The Entertainer to listen to, no matter where his venue might be.
He's one of the few WOW's some people get to experience in life.
